This is the second of a series of digital vector pieces of wildlife brought to extinction because of human activities. The Great Auk (Penguinus impennus) was large and flightless of member of the alcid family found on the islands of the North Atlantic. It was hunted to extinction for down, oil, and food, with the last birds killed for museum specimens. The current most widely-accepted date of extinction is 1852.
This work was completed in June 2016 using Inkscape software.
