At the time of this writing, I am 43 years old. I have been birding seriously since the age of 7. I’ll make your math easy: that’s 36 years of experience. I am a biological consultant in southern California working predominantly on birds. I will likely never guide trips full time as that is difficult to do when you are married, but I love taking folks into the field and showing them things they haven’t seen before. It’s a lot of fun. I look forward to working with you. But you probably want to know more about me.
I formerly led tours for a living before I moved on to biology as a career. I created and operated Lamanai Ornithology Expeditions to support my avian research in Belize from 1998-2000. My clients reported that I was an excellent guide, often compared with the best they had ever traveled with. I’ve also led trips since that time with other companies or on my own to Belize, Guatemala, and Brazil. I have extensive experience throughout much of the United States, Belize, and Costa Rica. I have birding experience in parts of Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
I invite you to contact me, especially if you are traveling to California, which is my home. I also have extensive contacts in Belize and could quickly set up a memorable birding tour that takes advantage of locations that the major tour companies don’t offer. To find out more about my experience, background, and the numerous other nature-related things I do, please check out other sections of this website.
