The Los Angeles River

This discussion of the LA River covers that portion of the LA River between State Highway 2 to the north and Interstate 5 to the south. While the banks of the river are concrete along its entire length, much of it is soft bottom with riparian forest and other wetland vegetation. While large amounts of trash and graffiti are typical of the LA River, so is a diverse array of birdlife. Both sides of the river are fully accessible via walking paths.
